Holiday Health

Last time, we were talking about the holidays. It's always difficult not to indulge with so many treats and parties around the holidays. Here are some tips for staying fit, or at least not expanding, during the holiday season.

1. If there are a lot of treats around your office, try to avoid them as much as possible. If you get a box of chocolates from someone, for instance, and you know you'll dig into it if it comes home - don't bring it home! No, you aren't being rude. Find someone to whom you can give it so that the giver doesn't know that you've given it away. Your body will thank you.

2. Continue to exercise. Just because it's the holiday season doesn't mean that you stop working out. Now, maybe you can even step it up a bit, work off some extra calories and strip that fat.

3. Watch carbs. While watching the football game, try not to munch on pretzels and breads. Reach for vegetables, fruits and proteins as much as you can.

Ways to Prevent a Skin.

It's interesting, United States researchers have discovered that the combination of daily exercise and a cup of coffee may help prevent skin cancer.

The team of researchers found that compared with the UVB-exposed control group, the caffeine drinkers showed an increase of about 95 per cent in UVB-induced apoptosis, the exercisers showed a 120 per cent increase, while the mice that were both drinking and exercising showed a nearly 400 per cent increase.

One of the study's authors Dr. Allan Conney says if apoptosis takes place in a sun-damaged cell, its progress toward cancer will be aborted.

The team say drugs which induce apoptosis are currently being researched as a method of preventing different types of cancer, but the combination of caffeine and exercise appears to have a similar protective effect.

Dr. Conney says the cumulative difference seen in the caffeine-drinking runners is possibly due to some form of synergy between the two factors.

Coffee is not the only beverage to contain caffeine, but it does contain the most and recent research has found that while those with high blood pressure, and pregnant women should limit their caffeine consumption, coffee may reduce the risk of developing gallstones, kidney stones and colorectal cancer.

Interesting though the research is, more is needed to establish if the findings are similar in humans; people are advised to use adequate sun protection when exercising in the sun.

How I relax after work

Hi guys! I would like to tell you how to relax after a long working day. Of course there are lots of opportunities. Most of people do sports especially swimming which is really great. When getting into the swimming pool you forget all your problems. Some people even say that water can absorb all your negative emotions and feelings and of course help to overcome bad effects of stress.

But as for me I prefer spa. I have been looking for a spa salon for many years which would suit me most and I think finally I have found it. I consider day spa in LA to be the best of all. Only hear I can relax and regain health. I have become a regular visitor of this place because of the friendly atmosphere and nice service.

Another relaxation tool for me is yoga. I took up yoga two years ago when I had back pain and my doctor gave me a piece of advice to take some yoga classes and even gave me a telephone number of his coach. First of all I bought all yoga appliances which are really great. I even managed to get a custom yoga mat where they printed my photo. So I advise everybody to take up yoga and visit spa at least once a month to relax after work.
